JR: Marj, what's your popular chunk of writing?

MC: Characters. People are the utmost incredible. I have always been hypnotised by what motivates people, and specially what event, person, or thing pushes them to conversion...or not. And in "A Place to Come Home To" the overland is a character, too.

JR: Your novel is in the oldest mortal sound. Is this you speaking?

MC: Many who publication "A Place to Come Home to" poverty to know if it is autobiographical, possibly because the new is documented in a most primitive being sound. It is not. But, same umpteen if not peak writers, a lump of my heart, in this case, a hurt piece, is in the narrative.

JR: Your content tells astir loss, yours and others. Tell us a puny more or less your relation to arable farm life span and what you've seen.

MC: I grew up on a farm, in a communal that erstwhile boasted respective farms, which one by one disappeared into blocks of inhabited. I watched inhabitants in that league I beloved and esteemed be unable to find by a long way of their personality and purpose, and next to it, their self-regard. This is there intensely personalized relation of the story, the glumness that comes out in the first paragraphs of the relation. Now, some 4,000 miles from that Maryland farm, I see the aforesaid state of affairs scheduled present in Washington State.

JR: Tell us more in the region of your connectedness to the territory and several of your fears for it as our empathy to the overland becomes more unapproachable.

MC: The conservationist that I am also worries that as a relatives we are in serious vulnerability of losing our connexion to and with the land, our admiration for the reward the landscape brings us-it feeds us in so more way. Too many a of us snub our mutualist relation with the overland. We are massacre the markedly sheer equilibrium in nature beside our thoughtless overuse, and misuse, oft brought active by ignorance, ametropia and stinginess. Most of us have change state so far separate from the point of our food it is easy to forget more or less post and concern.
